The woman who stabbed her nephew to death and tried to kill her niece and infant in Limay (Yvelines) on Christmas night, admitted the facts and explained suffering from post-natal depression,the Versailles prosecutor's office said on Saturday.

A gentle and attentive woman

A nocturnal drama

Three children were also present: his 10-year-old nephew, 4-year-old niece and baby.
At the end of dinner, her husband returns home alone. "Married for more than a year, they had a life plan: a child, a new home... the prosecutor's office said. One of his brothers also returned, leaving his two children to sleep there.
But in the night, the woman took her nephew and niece to the playground behind the building, "armed with a knife and a cutter," repeatedly injuring them. Some wounds show "great violence, a form of doggedness." Then she went to pick up her infant from the apartment, which she "stung with the tip of a knife".
The autopsy will take place on Monday
"She did not completely commit her irreparable act towards her, but that was her intention," according to the prosecutor's office, which is investigating for voluntary homicide of a minor under the age of 15 and double attempted homicide of minors.
The alert was given around 3:15 a.m. by neighbors and then by the grandmother. Despite the intervention of the emergency services, the boy died at the scene. His autopsy will take place on Monday.
The girl, who was seriously injured, is still in hospital. His prognosis is not life-threatening. The infant was also taken into care.
