The Artemis project aims to send astronauts to the moon in 2024 for the first time since 1972



The next person to walk the moon could be a woman. Nasa has announced that as part of its Artemis project, which aims to send new astronauts to the Moon in 2024, nine of the 18 people shortlisted are women, BFM-TVreports.



The project envisages the construction of an on-site base

On Wednesday, U.S. Vice President Mike Pence presented a list of 18 astronauts shortlisted for future missions. With the goal that in 2024, a man and a woman will tread the Earth's satellite.

Among the names unveiled are some seasoned astronauts, such as Stephanie Wilson, several spaceflight on the counter or the one who holds the record for time spent in space (for a woman), Christina Koch.
