Turkey Starts military exercises in Northern Cyprus 'Mediterranean Storm'

 


 

According to the official statement of ministry of turkey the annual exercises are to improve mutual training, cooperation, and interoperability between the Turkish Cypriot Peace Force Command and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus Security Forces Command.

 

Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus is the country that is recognized only by Turkey.

 

The joint military exercises have started by the both countries on Sunday, September 6, 2020.

 

Turkey is looking for the reserve of Gas and Oil in waters that are claimed by both Greece and Turkey. The tension is very high between both countries.

 

The Turkish military began its exercises called "Mediterranean Storm" with the Turkish Cypriot Security Command, Vice President Fuat Oktay said on Twitter.

 



Turkish President also warned Greece over the issue by saying that They will either understand the language of politics and diplomacy, or on the field through bitter experiences.

The EU member is looking for support from other European Nations and France has said that the sanctions against Turkey is on table in next meeting of EU.

 

Turkey has repeatedly said that Turkey is ready for dialogue and the matter can be sorted through by sharing the equal amount of resources.

 

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has also said that At every opportunity, we express that Turkey is ready for an equal share as long as it is just and fair. But the problem is our counterparts do not recognise our rights.
